| Exact continues its Progression |
|
| Exact Software has released the latest version of Macola Progression.
Version 7.6.400 contains more than 24 new enhancements to the product, including strong and encrypted password functionality as well as support for the Microsoft SQL 2005 platform.
Customers with current maintenance contracts now have the option to take advantage of all the enhanced features in the Progression 7.6.400 update.
If you would like to know more about what Progression 7.6.400 has to offer, please contact SCSI Business Solutions.
The initial release of Progression 7.6.400 will be for updating from 7.6.300 and 7.6.300x versions only. A subsequent release will be made available for customers who wish to install Progression 7.6.400.
There are considerations regarding Exact and third party add-on products that you will need to be aware of:
- Crystal 10 - Business Objects is not supporting Crystal 10 on SQL 2005. However, Exact has tested Crystal 10 on SQL Server 2005 and has not produced any incompatibility issues.
- Event Manager 5.7 – Vineyardsoft officially supports Event Manager V6 with SQL 2005. Exact's testing of v5.7 on SQL Server 2005 has not produced any incompatibility issues. We are aggressively moving forward with support of EEM v6 which is the officially supported EEM version for SQL 2005. We will have additional information in the following weeks.
- Language update for Spanish and Chinese will be made available within 2 weeks of the general release date of Progression 7.6.400s. Clients who currently have implemented multiple language support in Progression should not update at this time. A subsequent announcement will be made when this update is available.
- EBA - Exact Business Analytics V4.2 has been tested with SQL Server 2005 and has not produced any incompatibility issues. EBA V4.5 is pending release and will be the officially supported version for SQL 2005.
- Supply Chain – WMS, Progression EDI and Exact EDI are in the process of being tested with SQL Server 2005. Exact is anticipating support for these products with Service Pack A of Progression 7.6.400 or sooner. A subsequent announcement will be made when these updates become available.
Customers who have a current maintenance contract with Exact Software North America can obtain this service pack as a download from the customer portal.

| SCSI exhibits at CPA show |
|
| SCSI Business Solutions exhibited its Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity services at the Florida Accounting and Business Expo, June 1-2 at Renaissance Orlando Resort at Sea World in Orlando, Fla.
Sales Manager Murray Kaiser and SCSI President Donald Reeves met with hundreds of accountants and other business professionals to discuss the importance of having a Disaster Recovery plan in place.
"Inevitably, there are two types of data," Reeves said. "Backed up data and lost data. We're here to make sure you don't have the latter."
SCSI offers a variety of levels protection from Continuous Data Protection to remote data storage to High Availability servers, which allow you to switch from a master to a slave server in the event of a crash without ceasing operations.
"Every company should have some sort of Disaster Recovery plan," Kaiser said. "It's a matter of defining what scenarios would be disastrous for your company and taking steps to minimize the impact of those events."
For more information on SCSI's Disaster Recovery services, please contact Kaiser at (888) 440-7274.
